A few years ago the Greater Dover Thanksgiving Service shifted from being a traditional “preaching” service to a whole service of “offering thanks.”
Each of the faith communities that took part brought an “offering” — whether it was through song, dance, readings, prayers, silence or whatever – to present to God in worship.
That new tradition continues this year, as the Interfaith Community of Greater Dover will gather on Sunday evening, November 23rd, at 7 PM, at First Parish Church, on Central Avenue in Dover.
Our own Chancel Choir will participate, and possibly our Sacred Dance Choir as well.
Attendees are invited to participate in an offering, in one of two ways – either through the donation of non-perishable food items for the “Our Daily Bread” Food Pantry, or through a financial offering for Dover Cooperative Ministries (which oversees the Dover Food Pantry, Dover Friendly Kitchen and Dover SHARE Fund). Please feel free to bring an item for the Food Panty and/or a financial gift.
A time of fellowship will follow the service, in the host church’s fellowship hall.
