Mid-Week Lenten gatherings shape us through the holy season
A weekly Lenten supper, Bible Study and worship are taking place throughout Lent this year.
Each Wednesday evening will begin with a light supper (i.e. soup ‘n sandwich, or chowder and bread, or something else simple) at 6:15 PM.
While we’re sharing the meal, we’ll spend some time discussing the scripture passage that will be the focus of the quiet, reflective Taizé worship service that will begin at 7 PM.
For the six Wednesdays (concluding in Holy Week), we’ll focus on “People Around the Cross” – looking at a different person/group each week. We’ll examine Pontius Pilate, the Roman Soldiers, the twelve disciples, Matthew, Joseph of Arimathea and Mary.
You can come for supper – or supper and Bible Study – or come simply for the service at 7 PM. May these evenings deepen your walk with the Lord through this Lenten season.
The meals are gifts to our congregation from members of the Small Group Ministry and members of various committees in the church. We hope you enjoy them.
