On Sunday evening, December 13th, at 7 PM, we will host the Dover Area Religious Leaders Association (DARLA) Blue Christmas service – a special worship service which lifts up the hope of Emmanuel – God with us – while acknowledging that the season is not filled with joy for all, i.e. those who have lost a job, or those with “seasonal affected disorder,” or those who will be experiencing their first Christmas following the loss of a loved one, etc.
Clergy from various congregations in the area will participate, along with an Ecumenical Choir, directed by Amanda Russell, from the Parish of the Assumption. Our own Steve MacKenzie will be the musician for the service.
If you would like to sing in the Ecumenical Choir, speak to Pastor Mark, and he will get the music to you. There will one rehearsal, at 6 PM on the evening of the service.
Following the service the Dover Cooperative Ministries Council will host a time of fellowship in Hartford Hall.
If this season is a difficult for you, please know that this service is for you. Or if you know someone who struggles emotionally at Christmas time, we hope you will extend an invitation for them to attend – and perhaps you can be a support to them by attending with them.
