Our Christmas Angel Tree goes on display in the narthax on Sunday, November 20, loaded with gift ideas. Most of the requests come from children at Dover Children’s Home, Woodman Park, Dover Middle and Dover High Schools. They are carefully screened by staff and identified as most in need.
We also “adopt” the single adults staying at My Friend’s Place. They each ask for three things they really need to help them get through the winter. We especially enjoy working with Debbie, the volunteer Christmas Coordinator. Debbie lived for many months at MFP with her three children, and has gone on to become self supporting and living in her own place. She returns each year to work with those who are now without their own place.
You can choose a request for a specific gift, or simply choose one or more gift certificate requests. The Angel Tree will be replenished each week until all the requests are filled. Outreach Ministries and the Tuesday Sisters Study Group will wrap all these gifts at 7 pm on Tuesday, December 13. All unwrapped gifts must be returned to the Angel Tree or the office no later than Sunday, December 11.
Thank you for helping make a better Christmas for some of those in need in our community.
