where people with a variety of beliefs and gifts can become disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, study,

What does it mean to be a Reconciling Congregation?
At St. John’s UMC in Dover, NH, we affirm God’s redeeming love for all, and believe each person possesses sacred worth and dignity. We are one in Christ, celebrating our diversity and acknowledging our differing opinions, beliefs, and Biblical interpretations. St. John’s, a reconciling congregation, welcomes all persons regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, age, ethnicity, physical or mental capacity, education, economic status, or marital status, to full participation in the life and ministries of this church. [Adopted in holy conferencing, February 05, 2012, and clarified by vote of Church Council, April 16, 2012.]
That means we are intentional about welcoming all people, including members of the transgender, bisexual, and gay and lesbian communities. The rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant with humanity, and includes everyone.
